Overview[]
Shortly after the Extermination War with the Ants, a rebellion occurred within the Empire. On one side sat the brutal Emperor and and on the other resided the civilians who could not tolerate the tyrany that was taking place.
After the end of the war, resources were very low. Many Imperial civilians lived in poverty. This was not helped by the Emperor's increased appetite for resources. The more he hoarded, the more the civilians despised him. It reached a boiling point after he demanded higher taxes, and the rebellion started. It spread from planet to planet until it raged thoughout the entire Empire.
The war lasted less than a year, but the casualties were very high. A reported 5,000 casualties occured on both sides. For much of it the Emperor was winning, but when Grand Admiral ForestBurger announced he would join the rebels, most of the army defected with him. In the end, the rebels were victorious and agreed on a truce with the government. There would be no Emperor, instead, The Imperial Grand Council alone would govern the Empire.
To this day, there has been no breaking of that promise.
